Pouring a concrete slab for your new building can feel overwhelming. At Custom Built Structures, Inc., we want to make the process simple by ensuring you have all the right information for a smooth and hassle-free installation.
The flat portion of your slab should be the exact same size as the frame of your building. This ensures a proper fit and helps prevent leaks under the building’s base rail, which are not covered by the structure’s weather seal.
We recommend incorporating a sheeting ledge (typically 2” x 2”) around the perimeter of your slab. This ledge serves as a rat guard while also protecting your slab from chipping or cracking when wedge bolt anchors securethe base rail of your structure.
At Custom Built Structures, Inc., our goal is to provide a high-quality product and a seamless building experience. If you have any questions about site preparation or how to get the most out of your new building, please reach out!
